02 CHONGQING CUNTAN INTERNATIONAL CRUISE CENTERInternship
2021 SUMMER INTERNSHIP
CABR-China Academy of Building Research
Beijing, China
Collaborative WorkAs a summer intern at the China Academy of Building Research, we work with MAD Architects to design Chongqing Cuntan International Cruise Center in 2021. Cuntan Port has gone through the construction of school buildings and factories during the Anti-Japanese War. The roar of machines and the splash of molten iron have evolved into today's freight wharf, which has continued the industrial memory. The architectural form reproduces the industrial culture represented by the gantry frame, continues the memory of the site, translates, recreates, and crafts it with care. By exploring the integration of city, nature, and humanities, it responds to the history and interprets the future. As a shimmer part of such a big authoritative design group, I am proud to be able to participate in conceptual design reviews, architectural drawings, and building engineering analysis of such a comprehensive project which takes three months to complete.
